STLCC Softball Continues Their Winning Way
St. Louis Community College (STLCC) softball team continues to impress, coming out of the Space Coast Spring Games in Viera, FL with an impressive 8-2 record. In the first half of the season, the team has scored a total of 204 runs, boasting a .421 team batting average and hitting 13 homeruns.
Freshman outfielder Paige Glasgow has been a standout performer, currently leading the team with a .535 batting average, 38 hits, 27 RBIs, and 4 homeruns. Sophomore pitcher Calista Stahlhut has been dominant on the mound, leading the way with a 1.81 ERA in 8 appearances.
Head Coach Kristi Swiderski praised the team's performance, stating, "Our team has shown incredible resilience and determination throughout the Space Coast Spring Games. The players have worked hard to achieve these results, and their dedication is evident in their performance on the field. Paige Glasgow has been phenomenal at the plate, and Calista Stahlhut has been a rock for us on the mound."
Coach Swiderski also shared her expectations for the rest of the season, saying, "We are thrilled with our progress so far, but we know there is still work to be done. Our goal is to continue building on this momentum and strive for excellence in every game. The team is focused and motivated, and I have no doubt that we will continue to see great things from them as the season progresses."
The Archers will be back in action on Thursday, March 27th for a doubleheader against conference opponent St. Charles Community College at 2pm on the STLCC Meramec campus.
