Archers Are Heading to the NJCAA DII World Series

After a challenging journey through the Central District Tournament at Parkland College, the Archers of St. Louis Community College have secured a spot in the NJCAA DII Softball World Series in Spartanburg, SC.

Their first game in the tournament was against Danville Area Community College, where St. Louis suffered a narrow 2-1 loss. Despite a strong effort, they were unable to overcome Danville's late lead.

Moving to the loser bracket, the Archers faced Spoon River College in another intense matchup. St. Louis emerged victorious with a 4-3 win, highlighted by strong performances from Gretchen Trello  and the pitching duo of Aaralyn Ranck  and Jaden Howard .

Next, St. Louis had to face Danville Area Community College again, this time coming out on top with a 6-3 victory. Gretchen Trello led the team with a home run and an RBI, while Ashlyn Miller  and Jaden Howard  delivered solid pitching to secure the win.

In their final matchup against #1 nationally ranked Parkland College, the Archers fought hard but ultimately fell short with a final score of 4-3. Despite the loss, Morgan Jones stood out with two hits and two runs scored.

With their impressive performance in the Central District Tournament, the Archers have earned a spot in the NJCAA DII Softball World Series. They will face Central Alabama Community College on Monday, May 20, 2024, at 1:00 PM. All World Series games will be livestreamed on the NJCAA Network, giving fans the opportunity to cheer on the Archers as they strive for success in Spartanburg.
