The STLCC volleyball team got two more wins when they traveled to Canton, IL to participate in the Spoon River Tri-Match on Friday, September 27. In Friday's first match, the Archers defeated Highland CC 3-0 (25-22, 25-14, 25-12). Against Highland, Trisha Gaylord led in Kills with 12. Lauren Partney collected 19 assists, Lillian Howell recorded 28 digs, and STLCC got solo blocks from Kyla Sidener and Lauren Holsclaw.
After the win against Highland, the Archers took on host Spoon River CC. STLCC again came away victorious, this time by a score of 3-1 (25-22, 19-25, 26-24, 25-15). Leading the team in kills against Spoon River was Trisha Gaylord with seven. Lauren Partney led in assists with nine. Lillian Howell recorded 10 digs and Emma Leppien and Trisha Gaylord collected solo blocks.
With the two wins over the weekend, the Archers improved to 15-5 overall. The team will return to action on Monday, September 30 at Missouri Baptist University JV.
