Archers Defeat State Fair, Secure MCCAC Championship

The STLCC women's soccer team came away with a big 3-2 victory over State Fair CC on Saturday, October 19.   The Archers got off to a quick 1-0 lead on an unassisted goal from Mikayla Sisk at 22:00, but the Roadrunners from State Fair answered back with a goal at 32:00.   In the 37th minute, Isabella Lundberg was able to find the back of the net to give STLCC a 2-1 lead going into the half.  In the second half, Taylor Thompson scored to make it 3-1 on a setup from Lundberg at 50:00.  Thompson's goal would end up being the game winner, as the Archers went on the win the match 3-2.   Kelly Cates made two saves to collect the win in net for STLCC. 

 With Saturday's win, STLCC secured the Missouri Community College Athletic Conference Championship for the second consecutive year.  The win also ensured that the Archers will the #1 seed for the upcoming Region XVI Women's Soccer Tournament.   STLCC will host #4 State Fair CC in a semifinal match on Wednesday October 23 at 2:00pm.  The Archers are currently 11-4 on the season.
