The St. Louis Community College womens soccer team once again faced tough competition during the early part of the 2017, as Polk State pulled away late for a 3-1 victory on Sunday morning, in Melbourne, FL.  Polk St. scored the only goal of the match in the first half to take a 1-0 lead into halftime and then after seeing only one goal in the first eighty-three minutes of action, both teams combined for three goals over the next four minutes, as Polk took a 3-0 lead until the eighty-seventh minute when Olivia Gonzalez scored her first goal of the year, to cut the Polk St. lead to 3-1.

Libby Modde collected six saves in goal for the Archers, who fall to 0-3 in the early part of the season.  The Archers return to action on Saturday afternoon for an 11:00 am opening kick against Heartland Community College in a rescheduled contest.
