vanHoornbeek Continues Hot Streak to Push STLCC to Victory

The St. Louis Community College women's soccer team came into Mondays match with four wins and all wins were clean sheets by Libby Modde, today they got to see if they could break that stat as Missouri Valley scored during the second minute of the match to take a 1-0 lead.  The Archers were quite most of the first half, until the thirty-eighth minute when Jessican Nast belted a corner into the box that found the head of Kate Ohler who finished off the goal and tied the match at 1-1 heading into the half.  The second half though belonged to Grace vanHoornbeek and Alexa Griffonetti, as the two connect on back to back goals, with vanHoornbeek adding a goal in the fifty-fifth minute off an assist from Griffonetti and the two switched roles thirteen minutes later as Griffonetti scored off an assist from vanHoornbeek to push the lead to 3-1, but three minutes later the Vikings got a goal to pull to within one goal, at 3-2.  vanHoornbeek finished the scoring in the seventy-third minute as she scored her fifth goal in the past two matches off an assist from Michalla Rohrer, giving the Archers a 4-2 lead that they would not relinquish.

STLCC improves to 5-5 on the hear and return to action with a Region 16 matchup with MCC-Maplewoods, match time is set for 2:00 pm and will be played at the Flo Valley campus.
