Lady Archers Blank Central Methodist 4-0

The St. Louis Community College women's soccer team had a week to rest after a physical match with Lewis & Clark, and the rest was welcomed before Mondays match with the Central Methodist University JV team.  The Archers responded to the time off well, as they dominated play and returned to St. Louis with a 4-0 victory to improve to 2-4 on the season.

In the ninth minute of the match, the Archers put a goal on the board with an Alexa Griffonetti goal, her second of the season, off an assist from Grace vanHoornbeek.  Ten minutes later, Griffonetti was on the sharing end of the scoring, as she assisted while Rebecca Bass found the back of the net for her second goal of the season, giving the Archers a 2-0 lead.  Four minutes later, Haylie Woodard made it 3-0 STLCC as she hammered home a shot for her second goal of the year, while vanHoornbeek notched her second assist of the night.  After halftime, the Archers continued to control the tempo and finished the scoring in the sixty-sixth minute as Ellie Wallace scored her first goal of the year, with Michelle Kean collecting the assist.  The Archers fired off thirty shots on the night, including twenty-two on goal, while limiting CMU to one shot on the evening.  Libby Modde picked up her second clean sheet of the year in net.

The Archers return to action at Meramec on Sunday, with a noon match with Illinois Valley Community College.
