Lady Archers Blank MCC-Blue River for Region 16 Road Win

The Lady Archers soccer team has continued getting better as the season marches on, and on Saturday the Archers continued that climb as they blanked MCC-Blue River, to earn a Region 16 road victory and improved to 8-6 on the season and 2-1 in Region play. 

Becca Bass notched the first goal of the match in the thirty-eighth minute, off a pass from Kaitlin Roberston, staking the Archers to a 1-0 lead heading into the half.  After halftime, Alexa Griffonetti scored her tenth goal of the season when she found the back of the net, Kate Ohler assisted on the goal that the Archers a 2-0 lead.  Three minutes later, in the sixty-third minute, Sam Amezcua got goal number eight on the season, when Bass found her strong right foot inside the box pushing the lead to 3-0 and taking any wind out of the Blue River sails. 

Libby Modde notched her fifth shutout of the season in goal for the Archers.  St. Louis returns to action on Wednesday afternoon with a 2:00 pm match at State Fair Community College.
