Shelly Ethridge Inducted Into Missouri Basketball Coaches Association Hall Of Fame

Just days after announcing her retirement from coaching following the 2018-2019 basketball season, Shelly Ethridge was inducted into the Missouri Basketball Coaches Association Hall of Fame.  The 2018-2019 season was Shelly's 10th as the head women's basketball coach at STLCC and the 28th of her career.  Prior to accepting the coaching position at St. Louis, Ethridge made coaching stops at Southwestern Illinois College, the University of Missouri – St. Louis, and Whitfield High School.

While at STLCC, Shelly amassed a record of 204-90 and led the Archers to six Region XVI Championships, including a #1 ranking in the NJCAA polls during the 2017-2018 season.  Ethridge's 2016-2017 team finished 5th at the NJCAA National Basketball Tournament and was awarded the prestigious B.J. Graber Sportsmanship Award.  With a 77-53 win over North Central Missouri College on Saturday, February 2, Shelly collected her 200th win at STLCC and her 500th career win.

At STLCC, Ethridge coached 11 NJCAA All-Americans and NJCAA Academic Award winners.  She also helped over 60 student-athletes obtain scholarships at four year institutions.  Along with the long list of accomplishments on the floor, Coach Ethridge was active in the St. Louis community and consistently supported cancer research with her annual Cancer Benefit Game.  Shelly will go down as one of the most accomplished coaches in St. Louis Community College's storied athletic history.
