Women's Basketball Remains Undefeated in Region Play

The STLCC women's basketball team stayed undefeated in Region XVI play after a 77-53 win against North Central Missouri College on Saturday, February 2.  The Pirates of North Central kept the score close in the first half, trailing the Archers by a score of 32-27 at halftime.  Aided by a burst of scoring in the third quarter, STLCC was able to pull away, outscoring NCMC 45-26 in the second half.  

The Archers were led offensively by Kimyra McGhee (13 points), Kanisha Green-McClain (13 points), Simone Rodney (10 points), and Ronne'zja Elliott (10 points).  STLCC received scoring contributions from 10 different players in the win.  McGhee led the team in rebounds with eight.  

With Saturday's win, the Archers move to 16-5 overall, 2-0 in Region XVI play, and remain 3-2 in MCCAC play.  Up next for STLCC will be a MCCAC matchup at home agianst Three Rivers College on Wednesday, February 6.  Wednesday's game is scheduled for 5:30pm.
