Saturday afternoon at MCC-Penn Valley, the Lady Archers finished their run through the Region 16 regular season with a dominating 103-60 victory. Ranked fourth in the latest NJCAA D2 poll, the Archers never looked back after the opening tip taking a 57-32 lead into the break. Five different Archers scored in double digits, including eighteenth double-double of the year for Chrishana Wilson who scored 25 points and pulled down 19 rebounds, Wilson also added 3 steals and passed the 1,000 point mark in her career by bring her career total to 1,003. STLCC was so dominant on the glass, that they outrebounded the Scouts 51-18, including Wilson outrebounding Penn Valley herself, 19-18. Caprice Hairston added 16 points, while Ellisha Davis, Kelsi York and Simone Rodney each poured in 13 points. Davis also dished out 5 assists running the point.
The Lady Archers shot 54.2% from the field while holding the Scouts to 32.8%. STLCC improves to 24-3 and extends their Region 16 winning streak to 25 games, dating back to the 2014-15 season. The Lady Archers return to action on Friday afternoon with a 3:00 pm Region 16 semi-final matchup with Cottey College in Jefferson City.
