Caprice Hairston has made the most of her opportunities recently and that trnd continued Saturday after, as she turned in a double-double with game highs in points (14) and rebounds (16), as the 4th ranked Lady Archers pushed past #19 North Central Missouri 69-55. Hairston was joined in double digits by Chrishana Wilson (12 points), Ellisha Davis (11 points) and Kimyra McGhee (10 points) during the victory. Andranae Wash dished out 4 assists and had 3 steals, while Simone Rodney had 4 steals to aid in the Region 16 win. Wash had three possessions during a fourth quarter run in which she picked the Pirates pocket at near mid-court which lead to transition lay ups to give the Archers some breathing space, after North Central Missouri cut the lead to 2 points at 50-48.
STLCC outrebounded NCM 45-38 and held a 22-9 advantage on the offensive glass and also created 14 steals on the defensive end. The fourth ranked Archers move to 19-3 on the year and improve to 4-0 in Region 16 play. STLCC returns to MCCAC action on Tuesday night, as they travel to Three Rivers College for a double header with the mens team.
