With Saturdays home court victory, 72-61 over Cottey College, the STLCC Women's Basketball team clinched the top spot in next weekends Region 16 Tournament in Jefferson City. After a sluggish start which saw the Lady Archers offense as cold as the temperatures outside, STLCC found their touch in the second and third quarters, as they outscored the Comets 36-18 in that stretch. Ellisha Davis turned in another outstanding complete game with 19 points, 6 assists, 5 rebounds and 3 steals, while even adding a blocked shot to the stat line. Kelsi York added 18 points and 4 steals, while Chrishana Wilson added 12 points and 2 blocks. Freshmen Kimyra McGhee added 11 points and 8 rebounds, Caprice Hairston added 10 points and 6 rebounds and Simone Rodney picked up 5 assists in the victory. The Lady Archers picked up 22 offensive rebounds, including 6 from McGhee to dominate the offensive glass.
