The St. Louis Community College Lady Archers dominated Wentworth Military College from the opening tip until the final horn sounded, taking with them a 90-30 victory. The Archers used a hot start to jump to an early 28-4 lead after one quarter and took a 45-8 lead into the locker room at halftime.
Five Lady Archers scored in double figures, with Shamiah Oliver leading all scorers with 20 points, while adding 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. Chrishana Wilson and Ellisha Davis added 17 points each, with Wilson collecting 11 rebounds and Davis dishing out 8 assists and picking up 7 steals on the afternoon. Erica Waeltermann scored 11 points and and Alfreda Roberts added 10 points and 9 rebounds. The STLCC defense picked up 27 steals and held Wentworth to 21 percent shooting from the field.
The Archers, who improve to 12-8 on the year and 3-0 in Region 16 play, return to action on Saturday afternoon, with a matchup with co-region 16 leader North Central Missouri College at 1:00 pm on the Forest Park campus. The Tuesday game vs. the Washington University JV team has been canceled.
