The Lady Archers basketball team could not overcome foul trouble in the quarterfinal round matchup with Monroe Community College this evening, as they fell 82-53 at the NJCAA Division 2 national tournament in Harrison, Arkansas.
STLCC jumped out to a 19-15 lead after the first quarter, but with a 30-29 lead in the second quarter, the Archers quickly found themselves with three starters on the bench with foul trouble and Monroe took advantage, as they outscored the Lady Archers 29-11 in the quarter to take a 44-30 lead into halftime.
Shamiah Oliver scored a game high 19 points, while Alfreda Roberts and Chrishana Wilson each collected 9 rebounds, with Wilson also adding 10 points and 3 steals. The Lady Archers outrebounded Monroe 31-27, but could overcome 27 turnovers.
STLCC fall to 24-9 on the year and return to the court on Thursday afternoon to face Kalamazoo Valley Community College.
