It is hard to believe that the regular season wrapped up on Tuesday afternoon and the Lady Archers are now set to enter the Region 16 tournament, but that is the case after STLCC split at Lewis & Clark.  The Archers fell victim to a walk off win in the bottom of the seventh inning during the opener, falling 4-3 after seeing the Trailblazers rally for two runs in the bottom of the seventh, but rallied themselves for a 14-3 short game win in the nightcap.

Game 1

Jenn Leubbert and Ashley Shepard each collected two hits for the Archers, while Morgan Moss hit a solo home run to centerfield during the loss.  Hannah Marquardt took the tough loss in the circle to fall to 13-4 on the season, as she struck out 5 hitters in six and a third innings pitched.

Game 2

The offense got moving in the second and third inning, as the Archers scored eight and six runs respectively,.  Kacy Bergfeld led the attack at the plate by collecting three hits, two of which were doubles, and driving in three runs, while Molly Darner added two hits, including a double, and two RBI.  Haley Fisher drove in a pair of runs, while Moss added a triple in the win.  Kourtney Timper pitched three innings to pick up the win.

STLCC opens Region 16 Tournament play on Friday afternoon with a 2:00 pm start against East Central College in Farmington, MO.
