After more postponements and cancelations thanks to rain, the Lady Archers Softball team had to change home dates with East Central on Wednesday to be able to get in the MCCAC and Region 16 contests, but the change was worth it as STLCC rolled to wins of 8-0 and 14-4 during the day.

Game 1

Sarah Shepard improved to 4-4 on the year, as she pitched six innings, allowing only two hits and striking out five Falcon hitters.  At the plate, Kacy Bergfeld paced the Archers with three hits, while also driving in a run.  Sadiya Collins brought out the big lumber, as she drove in four runs, with two hits, including a double.  Three other Archers had multi-hit games as Jenn Luebbert, Anna Counts and Molly Darner each had two hits, with Counts also adding a double, while Ashley Shepard and Luebbert each scored two runs in the 8-0 victory.

Game 2

Collins once again drove in four runs in game two, including a two run blast to left center in the bottom of the first inning, as the Archers finished the sweep with a 14-4 victory in the nightcap.  Morgan Moss added some power from the cleanup spot as she clubbed her fifth home run of the season, with a three run bomb to right in the fourth inning.  Five Archers collected multi-hit games in the win, as Luebbert, Counts, Collins, Moss and Darner each collected two hits, while Counts scored four runs and Abby Lavely drove in two runs on a single to centerfield in the third inning.  Hannah Marqardt improved to 5-1 on the season.

St. Louis Community College improves to 11-6 on the season, 5-1 in MCCAC play and 4-0 in Region 16 competition, and returns to action on Thursday afternoon with a 2 pm doubleheader at State Fair Community College.
