The STLCC softball continued their Spring Trip by winning two games on Saturday morning, winning the opener against Chesapeake 3-0 and taking the nightcap 5-0 against CC of Rhode Island. The Lady Archers pitching did an outstanding job of keeping the opposition off of the basepaths by allowing only 8 hits and 2 walks on the day.
Game 1
Kacy Bergfield and Anna Counts each had 2 hits and a double during the victory, while Counts drove in 2 runs with a double in the top of the 7th inning. Sarah Shepard evened her record at 1-1 on the year by throwing 7 innings of scoreless ball, while striking out 4.
Game 2
Kourtney Timper earned the victory in game 2 by throwing 5 scoreless innings allowing 3 hits and striking out 2 batters, while Hannah Marquardt added 2 scoreless innings with 3 strikeouts. Offensively, five different Archers collected a hit, while Molly Darner, Sam Skyles, Abby Lavley, Eva Rasey and Maddison Stanley each scored a run, with Stanley collecting the lone RBI.
STLCC improves to 3-1 on the year and returns to action on Sunday with two games against Iowa Central Community College at 8:00 am and County College of Morris at 10:00 am.
