It's not to often that you get a chance to play three games in one day, but thanks to rainy weather in Myrtle Beach on Sunday and Monday, the Archers picked up a third game on Tuesday during the Fastpitch Dreams Spring Classic, and they got a three game sweep in the process.  The day was highlighted by a no hitter thrown by freshmen Katy Moore and the pitching allowed only 2 runs in the 20 innings played.

Game 1

The Archers opened the morning with a 5-0 victory over Prairie State.  Kyla Blankenship once again turned in a solid game both in the circle and in the box as she threw 7 shutout innings, allowed 4 hits and struckout 6 batters and went 3-4 at the plate with 2 rbi.  Anna Counts had 2 hits and scored a run, while Markie McDonald went 1-3 with 2 rbi in helping lead the Archers to victory.

Game 2

Moore provided the excitement in the circle as she threw 6 innings, picked up 6 strikeouts without allowing a hit or run in the 8-0 win over Central Lakes.  Counts, Blankenship, Sarah Goers and McDonald each collected 2 hits, with Counts scoring 2 runs and Blankenship adding 2 doubles, Goers and McDonald each adding 2 rbi to pace the offense.

Game 3

In the nightcap, Kourtney Timper threw 5 and a third innings while only allowing 1 earned run in the 8-2 win over SUNY Adirondack.  Madison Sundling went 2-4 with a triple, Liz Miller added a double and scored 2 runs and Goers scored twice as well in the win.  The big hit came off the bat of Kayla Stevenson, as she had a bases loaded double to pick up 3 rbi in the 3rd inning.

The Archers improve to 7-1 and return to St. Louis to host Cottey College in the Region 16 opening weekend with a doubleheader on Saturday starting at 2:00 pm and a Sunday doubleheader starting at 11:00 am.  Both sets of games will be played on the Meramec campus.
