The St. Louis Community College softball team continued their scorching offensive attack on Wednesday afternoon on the Meramec campus, by scoring 32 runs in the doubleheader sweep of Lewis & Clark Community College as they won the opener 15-1 and the nightcap 17-4.
Game 1
Kyle Blankenship improved to 7-1 in the circle as she threw 4 innings, allowing only 1 run. At the plate, the Archers got production throughout the lineup with Liz Miller collecting 3 hits, and scoring and driving in 2 runs apiece. Madison Sundling and Shekinah Griffith each had 2 hits and scored 2 runs, while Sundling also had 2 rbi. Haley Fisher drove in 4 runs at the plate, while Markie McDonald picked up 3 rbi in the victory.
Game 2
More potent offense from the Archers in game 2, as the tone was set at the top of the lineup with Griffith scoring 3 more runs and Anna Counts collecting 2 hits and scoring 3 runs. Blankenship and Kayla Stevenson each had 4 rbi, with Blankenship picking up 2 hits in the win. Kourtney Timper threw 3 1/3 innings allowing only 2 earned runs to pick up her second win of the year.
The Archers move to 13-3 on the season.
