The St. Louis Community College softball team finally got a chance to return to the Meramec campus and play some home games, and they responded offensively like they were excited to be at home. Coming off of a 5-1 Myrtle Beach trip, the Lady Archers continued their winning ways with two come from behind wins over Cottey College, an 8-3 victory in game 1, and a 11-10 winner in the nightcap.

Game 1

Madison Sundling was 3-3 in the opener with a home run, 3 runs scored, 2 rbi and a stolen base to pace the offense, while fellow sophomore Liz Miller collected 2 hits, including a double, scored 2 runs, drove in a run and swiped a bag.  Shekinah Griffith also had 2 hits, scored a run and an rbi while picking up 2 stolen bases.  Sarah Goers and Haley Fisher each had a double in the win.

Kyla Blankenship picked up the win in the circle, tossing 7 innings, while allowing 2 earned runs and striking out 6 Comet hitters, as STLCC picked up the 8-3 win.

Game 2

Miller set the pace on the bases for the Archers in game 2, as she had 3 hits, including a double, while scoring 3 runs.  Sundling enjoyed leaving the yard so much in game 1 that she decided to do it again in game 2, while scoring 2 runs in the nightcap as well.  Goers and Anna Counts each collected 2 hits, with Counts scoring 3 runs and Goers driving in 2 runs and picking up a double in the 11-10 victory.

Katy Moore picked up the victory in the circle as the Archers improve to 9-1 on the season and 2-0 in Region 16 play.  The two teams will finish out the four game set with a Sunday doubleheader on the Meramec campus, first pitch is set for 11:00 am.
