With a win on Saturday, October 2 over St. Charles CC, the STLCC men's soccer team advanced to the semifinals of the Region XVI Tournament against #1 seeded Jefferson College on Tuesday, October 29. On Tuesday, Damani Henderson gave the Archers a 1-0 lead just before halftime. In the second half, Jefferson College tied the score on a PK at 58:00. The game remained tied at 1 until Brandon Burton gave STLCC a 2-1 lead with 18 minutes remaining. Burton's goal would end up being the game winner, as STLCC held on for a 2-1 victory.
The win over Jefferson sends STLCC to the Region XVI Championship match for the fourth consecutive season. The Archers will take on Crowder College on Saturday, November 2 in Neosho, MO, with the winner advancing to the Central District Championship. STLCC's record improved to 12-7 with the win over Jefferson.
