Archers Defeat State Fair, Win MCCAC Title

The STLCC men's soccer team defeated State Fair CC on Sunday by a score of 3-1.  The Archers got off to a great start in Sunday's match, when Noah Vezzu scored his 7th goal of the season.  During the 35th minute, Brandon Burton found the back of the net, giving the Archers a commanding 2-0 lead going into the half.  A second half goal by Ricky Turcis (assisted by Noah Vezzu) gave the Archers extra insurance leading to the win.  Liam Gibbs made six saves in the match to secure his 6th win of the season.

With Sunday's win, the Archers secured their third consecutive Missouri Community College Athletic Conference (MCCAC) championship.  STLCC is now 11-3 overall, 4-0 in MCCAC play, and 3-0 in Region XVI play.  The Archers will return to action on Thursday, October 11, when they travel to Belleville, IL to take on Southwestern Illinois College at 4:00pm.
