Archers Take Down Cougars 6-0

The St. Louis CC men's soccer team began Region XVI play with a bang on Wednesday night.  In a match played at the Creve Coeur Park Soccer Complex, the Archers got off to a fast start and never looked back.  Alem Sabic began the scoring for STLCC, hitting the back of the net at 13:00 of the first half.  Noah Vezzu got the assist on Sabic's third goal of 2018.  Freshman Riccardo Turcis then notched three straight goals at 21:00, 23:00, and 41:00 of the first half, with Ryan Khedoo assiting on a two of the goals.  The Archer lead grew to five at 43:00, when Ricardo Navia assisted on Noah Vezzu's second goal of the season.  Alem Sabic added his second goal of the night, which was unassited, at 77:00 to cap the Archer's scoring.  Goalkeepers Liam Gibbs and Odaine Reid combined for a shutout in the match.

The Archers improve their record to 5-2 overall, 1-0 in Region XVI, and 1-0 in MCCAC play with Wednesday's win.  The team will be back in action when they host Region XVI opponent Metropolitan Community College on Saturday, September 15 at Florissant Valley.  Saturday's match is set to begin at 4:15pm.
