During the opening week of the 2017 soccer season, the Archers have shown an ability to get shots off and Friday afternoon was no different.  The Archers fired off thirty five shots, including fourteen on goal during a 4-0 victory over visiting Allen County.  Freshman Conor McArthur recorded a hat trick as he scored the first two goals of the match, in the thirteenth and thirty-sixth minutes, and closed out the scoring in the fifty-fifth minute.  Mattias Tonking added a header in the forty-fifth minute for his second goal of the season.

STLCC showed great intensity on the defensive side as well, as they limited Allen County to three shots, with only one being on goal.  Sophomore Braedan Passalis collected his second victory in goal as he recorded his first shutout in an Archers uniform.

The Archers, who improve to 2-0 on the year and are currently ranked twelfth in the NJCAA National Polls, return to action on Sunday afternoon with a 2:00 pm match vs. Heartland Community College on the Flo Valley campus.
