The first road trip of the year provided an opportunity for the St. Louis Community College mens soccer team to finally play away from home. The Archers proved just as potent away from home as they do on the Flo Valley turf, coming away with an 8-0 victory over Illinois Valley on Saturday afternoon.

Conor McArthur started the scoring in the fifth minute for STLCC on an assist from Charlie Norman to give the Archers the 1-0 lead.  Norman was just warming up, as he scored the next two goals of the match, the first on an assist from McArthur and the second on an assist from Kieren Westwood to stake the Archers to a 3-0 lead eleven minutes into the match.  Junior Yabwana scored the fourth goal of the match in the sixteenth minute on another McArthur assist.  Mattias Tonking scored an unassisted goal in the thirty-eighth minute giving the Archers a 5-0 lead and Ali Seoud followed that up with a goal four minutes later on an assist from Kyle Zumwinkel to put the Archers up 6-0 at the half.  After half, the Archers got a quick goal from Josh Graham on an assist from Connor Summerhill and Tonking scored his second goal of the match on an assist from Seoud to give the Archers the 8-0 lead.

Once again, Coach Tim Mosby had an opportunity to play his entire bench, as all three goalkeepers saw action as well as each healthy player that traveled. The twelfth ranked STLCC improve to 5-0 and return to action on Sunday afternoon at 2:00 pm against Kankakee Community College.
