STLCC Earns Top Spot in Latest NJCAA Poll

For the first time since 2002, a St. Louis Community College team is ranked #1 in the country.  As was the case in 2002, the men's soccer team once again sits atop of the NJCAA soccer world, as the Archers were named to the top spot in the weekly poll released on Tuesday afternoon.  STLCC has won twelve national championships in men's soccer, with ten titles coming from Flo Valley and two coming from Meramec, the last title was won by Flo Valley in 1989.  Forest Park finished as national runner-ups during the 1983 season.

The Archers are currently 13-0-0, after defeating East Central College 5-3 on Tuesday afternoon, and are now unbeaten in the past thirty-two regular season matches dating back to 2015.  Eighteen different Archers have collected a point this season, and are paced by the twelve goals and ten assists scored from Conor McArthur, while Connor Walters has added nine goals and Chris Eduardo and Mattias Tonking each have eight goals on the year.

The Archers get some well deserved rest as they do not return to play until October 5th, as part of a women's and men's doubleheader vs. MCC-Maplewoods on the Flo Valley campus.
