Archers Clinch MCCAC Championship at East Central

The 16th ranked St. Louis Community College soccer team traveled to Union, MO on Wednesday afternoon for a physical match vs. East Cental and came away with a hard fought 2-1 victory.  With the win, the Archers move to 9-0-2 on the season and also clinched the MCCAC championship.  

The Archers gave up a goal in the fifth minute of the match, but stayed the course through out the remainder of the match on defense, holding the Falcons scoreless for the remaining eighty-five minutes.  The Archers missed on scoring chances in the first half, but continued to keep the pressure on before finally breaking through in the fourty-ninth minute of the match on an unassisted goal from Adam Du Toit, his seventh of the season.  With the match tied at 1, Dion Lewis-Kirwan scored in the seventy-first minute on an assist from Chris Eduardo to put the Archers up for good at 2-1.  Tyler Demoulin played well in goal for the Archers, as he saved nine shots to pick up the win.  

The Archers return home to the Meramec campus on Friday afternoon for a 3:45 pm start vs. Malcolm X College out of Chicago.
