Coach Nettles was promoted to assistant coach for the 2019-2020 season after serving as a volunteer assistant in 2018-19 for a team that earned the number one seed in the region.  A winner at every level, Nettles played for Coach Collins in 2017 and was a top defender, leading the team to a district and regional championship, before earning a trip to the NJCAA National Basketball Tournament.  Prior to playing at STLCC, Nettles was a student-athlete at Black Hawk College in Illinois, earning All-Tournament honors in the Arrowhead Conference Tournament by averaging 25 points and 13 rebounds in the tournament.  Nettles attended Madison Preparatory High School and was a state champion and team mvp during the 2013 season.  He honed his basketball skills as a youth at the Wohl’s Center.

With deep ties to the St Louis area, Nettles oversees recruiting, scouting, and the team's pressure defensive system.  He also currently works at Great Circle, a care facility that provides residential housing for adults with low functioning autism.  Miles and his wife Marlesha have two daughters, Maddison and Miley.
