The STLCC men's basketball team erased a 12 point first half deficit and came away with a 60-62 win on Saturday, January 26 against Meropolitan CC. The Archers were able to chip away in the second half and eventually tied the score at 60 with under one minute to play. The score remained tied until Sterling Wooten found the basket on an inbounds play with less than three seconds remained to give STLCC their first Region XVI win of the season.
Scoring in double figures for the Archers were Dominique Loyd (18 points), Trequon Patterson (14 points), and Sterling Wooten (13 points). Patterson led the team in rebounds with 11.
With Saturday's win, the Archers move to 8-9 overall, 1-0 in Region XVI play, and currently sit at 0-3 in MCCAC play. The team will be back in action on Monday, January 28, when they head to Quincy, IL to take on Quincy University at 7:00pm.
