The St. Louis Community College men's basketball team needed a confidence boost after a rough outing on Monday night, and they turned to the defense in the second half of Wednesday nights game with the Quincy University JV to get that boost as the Archers pulled away with an 85-56 win.  The Archers allowed the Hawks to shoot 9-21 behind the three point arc in the first half, but held the Hawks to 3-12 in the second half to pull away from a ten point lead at half enroute to a twenty-nine point victory.  Fourteen different Archers scored on the evening, paced by Charles Jones and Raushaun Amos, who scored eleven points each, while Andrew Smith added ten points.  STLCC outrebounded the Hawks forty-six to twenty-five, including twenty-four offensive boards, and forced twenty-five turnovers in the victory.

Cameron Lockett added nine rebounds, Smith added eight more and Maurice Golden pulled down seven of his own.  Darius Riley led the Archers with five steals and three assists.  The Archers improve to 2-1 on the year and return to action on Monday night at West Kentucky Community and Technical College.
