The St. Louis Community College men's basketball team showed a toughness on Tuesday night that helped lead the Archers to an 80-71 upset of D1 #9 ranked Moberly Area Community College.  STLCC crawled out from an early 20-9 deficit to cut the Moberly lead to 35-33 at the half.  In the second half, Sterling Wooten showed off his mid-range jumper as he scored a game high 30 points and also pulled down 10 rebounds, which helped the Archers pull away from Moberly midway through the second half.

Although giving up height to Moberly, STLCC outrebounded the Greyhounds 34-31 on the night and forced 20 turnovers in the win.  Dominque Loyd and Andrew Pruitt each scored 12 points, while Rashaun Amos and Cameron Lockett each added 10 points in the victory.  Marquis Pepper added 5 assists and Charles James, Lockett and Wooten each tallied 2 steals.

The Archers improve to 8-7 on the year and return to action on Saturday as they open Region 16 play on the road at North Central Missouri.
