The St. Louis Community College men's basketball team picked up their first Region 16 victory of the year, on Saturday afternoon against Wentworth Military College, 80-70. The Archers used crisp passing and ball movement to rush out to a 39-27 lead at the half in a game in which the controlled the game from start to finish.
Five Archers scored in double figures for STLCC, with Sean Rigmaiden leading the way with 16 points, while DaVante Harrell dropped 14 points and added 3 steals on the defensive end. Miles Nettles scored 13 points, pulled down 8 rebounds, dished out 4 assists and grabbed 3 steals while turning in a solid night running the point for the Archers. Raushaun Amos and Courtney Barlow each added 12 points to round out the double figure scoring.
The Archers improve to 12-8 on the season and even their Region 16 record to 1-1 and return to action on Tuesday night at 7:00 pm to take on the Washington University JV team on the campus of Forest Park.
