After a slow start on Thursday night, the St. Louis Community College men's basketball team used a fast start in the second half to pull away from the Blackburn College JV team 76-50. The Archers found themselves in a dogfight at halftime only leading 27-25, but used a 14-0 run in the first two and a half minutes of the second half to give them some breathing room.
The Archers were led by sophomore Sean Rigmaiden offensively and defensively as he scored 15 points and added 3 steals. Freshmen Todd Simms and Courtney Barlow, joined Rigmaiden in double figures with 11 and 10 respectively. Sophomore Miles Nettles paced the Archers with 7 rebounds and 4 assists in the victory.
STLCC, who improved to 10-6, opens Region 16 play on Saturday, as they travel to Trenton, MO to tip off against North Central Missouri College.
