Rigmaiden Leads Archers to Season Opening Victory

The St. Louis Community College Men's Basketball team opened up the 2016-17 season Thursday night on the campus of Forest Park.  The Archers jumped out early on the Lindenwood-Belleville JV team, thank in part to a smoothering defensive effort to take a 45-26 lead into the break.  The Lynx made a brief run half way through the second half, but the Archers once again used strong defense to lead to easy points on the offensive side and close out the 90-70 season opening victory, and move to 1-0 on the season.

Sean Rigmaiden led the Archers offensively with 28 points, while adding 7 rebounds and 2 steals. Jarmon Williams and Davonte Harrel each added 13 points, while Todd Simms added 12 points. Williams and Simms added 10 rebounds and 7 rebounds to help the Archers outrebound the Lynx 50-28.  STLCC shot 54.8% from the field and 50% from beyond the 3 point arc in the victory, while holding Lindenwood to 41.1% shooting from the field.

The Archers travel to Palatine, IL for a Saturday afternoon 3:00 pm matchup with Harper College.
