Randy Albrecht Named to the St. Louis Sports Hall of Fame

Former St. Louis Community College men's basketball coach Randy Albrecht, will be inducted as a member of the 2017 class for the St. Louis Sports Hall of Fame.  Albrecht spent 36 years coaching at St. Louis Community College, with thirty-four of those years spent roaming the sidelines for the Meramec Magic and the final two years for the St. Louis Community College Archers, after the athletic department consolidated following the 2011 season.

When you get inducted into multiple Hall of Fames, you rack up accomplishments aside from the 736 victories Albrecht compiled at STLCC.  Included in his career at STLCC were twenty-eight consecutive winning seasons, a NJCAA D2 national runner up finish in 1989 and eleven Region XVI Coach of the Year trophies.  At the time of his retirement in 2013, Albrecht was eighth on the list of active coaching victories in the NJCAA, as his final record at STLCC was 736-444. Besides the St. Louis Sports Hall of Fame, Albrecht is also a member of the NJCAA Hall of Fame, the Missouri Basketball Coaches Association Hall of Fame and the STLCC-Meramec Hall of Fame.  Albrecht spent three years as the head basketball coach at St. Louis University before his time at STLCC.

The St. Louis Sports Hall of Fame banquet will be held of Friday September 15th at the Hilton St. Louis Frontenac Hotel.  The link to the St. Louis Sports Hall of Fame is www.stlshof.com
