Archers ride depth to regional win over Penn Valley

If there was any concern about the Archers being a one-dimensional team offensively, STLCC alleviated any of those worries in its 85-77 win on Saturday over MCC-Penn Valley.

DaVante Harrell and Rashad Jordan each collected double-doubles, with Harrell leading STLCC with 23 points and 12 rebounds. Noticeably absent from the team’s offensive attack was guard Nate Rigmaiden, who was held scoreless on an 0-for-7 shooting day in limited action. For the year, Harrell ranks second to Rigmaiden with 15.8 points, and leads with 5.3 rebounds per game.

Saturday’s win improved the Archers to 9-10 overall, and was the team’s sixth victory in its past seven games. The Archers travel to State Fair Community College on Tuesday, when they will attempt to collect their fifth road in in their past six games away from the STLCC-Forest Park campus. A win would also bring the Archers to .500 for the first time this year, after opening the season 1-8.
