Archers Go 2-2 At Baton Rouge

The STLCC baseball team recently went 2-2 in games played at Baton Rouge CC on Saturday, February 16 and Sunday, February 17.

Game 1 - Saturday, Feburary 16 - Baton Rouge CC

In the opener of a busy weekend, the Archers were able to defeat Baton Rouge CC by a score of 15-6.  STLCC exploded offesively in the contest, getting home runs from McGwire Dean, Nicholas DeBeer, and Clayton Stephens (2).  Driving in runs were Dean (4), DeBeer (4), Stephens (2), Tony Rask, and Blane Besse (2).  The Archers got muliple hits in the contest from Dean, DeBeer, Kyle O'Brien, Stephens, and Besse (3).  Nick Wiley got the win on the mound, going six strong innings.  

Game 2 - Saturday, February 16 - Baton Rouge CC

The Archers dropped a close one in game two by a score of 4-2.  Tony Rask contributed offensively with three hits, including two doubles.  Noah Pingel collected two hits and also ripped a double.  McGwire Dean collected the only RBI for STLCC.  Parker Cuddihee look the loss in relief on the mound.

Game 3 - Sunday, February 17 - Baton Rouge CC

STLCC was able to bounce back in game one on Sunday, beating Baton Rouge 6-4.  Clayton Stephens and Blane Tyree each had a double in the game.  Simon Desnoyer drove in a run for the Archers and Luis M. Cabrera drove in three runs.  Collecting multiple hits in the contest were Desnoyer, Kyle O'Brien, and Cabrera.  Noah Pingel got the win on the mound, going three innings in relief for the Archers.

Game 4 - Sunday, February 17 - #8 Pearl River CC

The Archers fell in the final game of the series to #8 Pearl River CC by a score of 11-4.  The Archers got RBI's from McGwire Dean (2) and Ivan Quackenbush (2).  Jacob Branham look the loss on the mound for the Archers, going two innings.   

STLCC's originally schedule games for Saturday, February 23 and Sunday, February 24 agaisnt Olive-Harvey College have been canceled due to weather.  The Archers will be back in action on Tuesday, February 26, when they host Southwestern Illinois College for a double-header beginning at 1:00pm if field conditions are improved.
