Archers Split at SWIC

The Archers took the short trip across the Mississippi on Tuesday afternoon to play SWIC and came away with a split, losing the opener, 5-2, and winning the nightcap, 9-5.

Game 1

Nick DeBeer, Anthony Rask and Jeff Huser each collected 2 hits, while DeBeer and Jackson Boschert each drive in a run during the loss.  Tyler Groves took the loss for STLCC, pitching an inning and third and giving up 3 runs.  Andrew Dupont and Chase Jones scored the lone runs for the Archers.

Game 2

STLCC scored five runs in the sixth inning of the nightcap, to collect the 9-5 win, and earn the split.  Jackson Schmedding earned his first college win in relief, pitching 4 innings and striking out 5, while not issuing a walk.  Boschert collected 3 hits from the top spot, while scoring 3 runs and driving in a run.  Dustin Buckner and Blaine Tyree each drove in a pair of runs, while Rask scored 2 runs, while William Sprick doubled and drove in 3 runs in the victory.
