Archers Split with Three Rivers in Last Home Series

The St. Louis Community College Baseball team wrapped up their home portion of the 2018 season with a split on Saturday against Three Rivers, winning the opening game 5-4 and losing the second game 6-4.  The Archers are now 23-23 on the season and wrap up regular season play with a four game weekend set at North Central Missouri on Saturday and Sunday.  

Game 1

The Archers found themselves trailing 4-3 heading into the bottom of the seventh inning and with two outs, but Jack Kane produced a cluth two out double to score Jackson Boschert from second to tie the game and push extra innings.  Austin DesRoche held the Raiders off the board in two innings of relief to allow for the heroics for Freshman Tony Rask, who singled to left scoring Jeff Huser who doubled with one out, to give the Archers a walk off winner in the opener.  DesRoche improves to 2-0 on the season.  Huser and Rask each collected two hits for STLCC, while DesRoche and Stephens also added doubles. 

Game 2

The nightcap started rough for STLCC, as they gave up five runs in the top of the first inning, three of which were unearned.  The Archers clawed their way back into the game to pull with 5-3 in the bottom of the third, but could not climb all the way back in dropping game two.  DesRoche collected two hits, including a double and Rask added a solo home run in the loss.  Jackson Keller fell to 3-3 on the season as he struck out three hitters in two innings of work.
