Bats Feeling the Love in Shawnee Sweep

In twelve innings of offense, the St. Louis Community College baseball scored twenty-eight runs and collected thirty hits in a Sunday sweep of Shawnee Community College.  The Archers improve to 16-12 on the year and return to action on Tuesday (weather pending) as they host Kaskaskia College for a single game.

Game 1

Jackson Keller got the start on the mound for the opener and pitched four strong innings to improve to 2-1 on the year.  Keller did not allow an earned run and only allowed a hit, while striking out five hitters.  At the plate, six Archers collected multiple hit games, with Jack Kane leading the way with four hits, three RBI and scoring two runs.  Jackson Boschert, Tony Rask, Nick DeBeer, Clayton Stephens and Austin DesRoche each had two hits, with DesRoche, Jeff Huser and Sam Lombard each driving in two runs.  Rask tripled in the victory, while Huser and Kane each doubled.  

Game 2

In the nightcap, five Archers collected multiple hit games, led by three hits from Boschert, while Will Sprick, Rask, McGwire Dean and Dustin Buckner each grabbed two hits in the win.  Buckner rapped out two doubles, while Boschert, Sprick and Dean each collected a two bagger.  Rask tripled for the second time of the day.  Matthew Blake picked up the win on the mound, as he threw three innings without allowing a run allowing only one hit and striking out three.
