St. Louis Community College has embarked on the inaugural phase of constructing its state-of-the-art esports arena at the South County Center. This milestone marks the beginning of a new era as the college gears up to debut its esports program, set to compete in the 2024-2025 academic year under the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Esports league.

Expressing enthusiasm for this development, STLCC Athletic Director Sharon Marquardt commented, "After a year of planning, it is gratifying to witness the project gaining momentum." Marquardt further elaborated, "We are thrilled to announce the appointment of Robert Cruz as the new esports coordinator. With his leadership, we anticipate the rapid growth of the program and aim to position STLCC as a contender for the national championship."

The esports arena is slated for completion by June 2024, just in time for the arrival of new recruits for the upcoming 2024-2025 season. Prospective esports athletes are encouraged to explore opportunities to join the pioneering team by visiting archersathletics.com and completing the recruiting questionnaire under the "Recruits" section.
